    Travel and Arrival in Athens

    Muslim Legacy team members will meet you at the airport and facilitate a smooth transfer to your hotel in Athens.

  • Day 2

    Athens Discovery Tour

    Athens, the historic heart of Greece, was under Ottoman rule for nearly 400 years, leaving behind meaningful Islamic architectural and cultural traces.
    Your tour includes:

    - Fethiye Mosque, built in the 15th century following the Ottoman conquest.

    - Tzistarakis Mosque, now a museum showcasing Islamic/Ottoman heritage in the city.

    - Plaka & Monastiraki, old districts shaped by centuries of Islamic-era craftsmanship, trade, and architecture.
    Overnight in Athens.

    - The Parthenon, which for centuries functioned as the Jāmiʿ Masjid of Athens, offering a powerful lens into the layered religious and civilizational history of Muslim Greece.

  • Day 3

    The Ottoman Legacy of Athens

    Morning visit to:

    - The Old Madrasa Gate, the final remains of an Ottoman-era Islamic school.

    - The Tower of the Winds, used as a mosque during the Ottoman period.
    Explore historic markets and old Turkish quarters where artisans, calligraphers, and merchants once flourished.
    Overnight in Athens.

  • Day 4

    Journey to Ioannina

    Panoramic drive through the Greek countryside to Ioannina, once a major center of Islamic governance and learning.
    Highlights include:

    - Ioannina Castle – home to the once-thriving Muslim community.

    - Fethiye Mosque – one of Greece’s best-preserved Ottoman mosques.

    - Aslan Pasha Mosque, now a museum displaying centuries of Islamic life in the region.

    Thessaloniki: The City of Scholars and Sufi Orders

    After breakfast, transfer to Thessaloniki, once one of the most vibrant cities of the Ottoman Empire and home to Muslim scholars, merchants, and Sufi lodges.
    Highlights include:

    - Alaca Imaret, a 15th-century mosque and soup kitchen serving the community for centuries.

    - The Old Hamams, stunning examples of Islamic architecture.

    Former tekke (Sufi lodges) known for dhikr, learning, and spiritual tradition.
    Free time in the Old Town to experience its multicultural Ottoman-era charm.
    Overnight in Thessaloniki.

  • Day 6

    Transfer to Rhodes Island

    Rhodes occupies a unique place in the history of Muslim presence in the eastern Mediterranean, coming under Ottoman rule in 1522 and remaining so for nearly four centuries. The island preserves some of the most intact Islamic architectural and communal remnants in Greece, offering a rare glimpse into everyday Muslim life beyond the mainland.

    Suleiman Mosque, built following the Ottoman conquest and one of the most prominent Islamic landmarks on the island.

    Rhodes Old Town, where Ottoman-era streets, fountains, and residences remain woven into the medieval city fabric.

    Ottoman cemeteries and inscriptions, reflecting the continuity of Muslim scholarship, governance, and community life on the island.
