Itinerary

Travel and Arrival in Palermo (Day 1)

Muslim Legacy team members will meet you at the airport and facilitate a swift transfer to the hotel in Palermo.
Day 2

Palermo discovery tour, one of the major cities of Italy, and the historical and administrative capital of Sicily. Palermo was conquered in 831 by the Islamic Empire from North Africa and became the capital of the Muslim Emirate of Sicily until 1072, a 300-year period in which it became one of the leading cities of the entire Mediterranean and European world. Overnight in Palermo.
Day 3

Morning tour to Trapani, which the Muslims called Trapani Itrabinis, Tarabanis, or Trapanesch. Witness the significant Muslim presence in the town seen in its architecture, agriculture, art, language and culture. Tour the beautiful city of Monreale, and visit the famous Arab - Norman Duomo of Monreale, an ancient historical Mosque converted to a Cathedral after the fall of the Muslim Empire. Overnight in Palermo.
Day 4

Panoramic Tour through the beautiful Sicilian landscapes which is rich of the Islamic History and Muslim heritage, including the major agricultural legacy of the Muslim era. The tour includes the world-renowned Cathedral & Dome Square of Cefalù, built in the Arab-Norman style with major contributions by Muslim artisans. Transfer & overnight in Enna.
Day 5

Morning Tour to Taormina, known as Tabarmin in the Muslim era, a commune and small town on the east coast of Island of Sicily which has been a very popular tourist destination since the 19th century. Panoramic tour of the stunning Arab-Norman Castle of Monte Tauro, which is locally known as Castello di Taormina or Castello Saraceno, the “Saracen (Muslim) Castle.” Overnight in Catania.
Day 6

After breakfast, depart to the town of Caltagirone. Caltagirone is one of the most important tourist destinations in Sicily thanks to its unique artistic and ceramic heritage, as well as the beauty of its views and monuments. The Muslim contribution to the city culture is honored in the name of the town. Free time to shop and explore the work of the town’s world-class artisans. After lunch, return to Catania and visit the Islamic Mosque of Catania. Overnight in Catania.
Day 7

After breakfast, transfer to Catania Airport for return flight.
