The surrender of Toledo to its significance
And more.
This course will help you understand the story of a unique Muslim land, how its story fits into the history of the Ummah, and how its legacy continues to influence us today. The reality is that few history courses in our education system in the West will teach the history of Muslim-majority lands from a Muslim perspective. This course aims to provide a more balanced, accurate, and holistic understanding, guided by our own traditional understanding of the reality of human history in this world.
Our intention is for this course to help youth, and adults, to better understand where we come from. In turn, this will help us begin to imagine where we might go as a civilization in the future, insha'Allah. This is all part of the larger goal of helping us reconnect with the immense riches and beneficial aspects of our Muslim legacy.
This will be a live course, held via Zoom, with 5 sessions total over 5 weeks. Our instructor will be Ustadh Abu Ayyub Marulanda, who is originally from the USA, and has been living in Istanbul for a number of years. We're keeping the class small, to allow for participation and questions. It will be followed by Part Two.
You can also sign up for parts 1 & 2 (10 weeks) together and get a discount. Click here
